In 2023, Hyundai Motor India entered into an agreement with General Motors to purchase this plant, and the acquisition was completed in January 2024. The acquisition included land, buildings, machinery and other equipment for which Hyundai paid ₹787.2 crore. It is a huge plant spread over 300 acres with state-of-the-art facilities like logistics distribution center and training center.
