The most talked about in the list of Tata Motors New Cars 2030 is Tata Sierra EV and its ICE version. The concept model of the Sierra was showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo, and has also been spotted testing on the roads. The mid-size SUV is expected to launch with petrol-diesel engines by the end of this year, while the electric version will arrive in 2026. The retro-modern design of the Sierra and its old name make it special among customers. The SUV will compete with cars like the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara. It is expected to have premium interiors, ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems), and an electric model with a range of 400-500 km.

Tata Avinya: A new era of premium electric cars

Tata Motors will launch two premium electric cars under its Tata Avinya sub-brand, named Avinya and Avinya X. Both these cars will hit the market by 2027 and will focus on high-end electric vehicles. The Avinya concept was showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo, which caught everyone’s attention with its SUV-coupe styling, futuristic design, and high-tech features. These cars will be built on Tata’s EMA (Electric Mobility Architecture) platform, which will offer a range of 500-600 km and fast charging support. The Avinya models will compete with premium electric SUVs like the BYD Atto 3 and MG ZS EV.

Two new ICE and two new EV cars

Apart from Sierra and Avinya, Tata Motors New Cars 2030 will also include two new petrol-diesel cars and two new electric cars. Not much is known about these cars yet, but they could be in the compact SUV, hatchback, or sedan segment. Tata aims to make these cars meet the needs of both urban and rural customers. One of these electric cars could be a larger version of the Tata Punch EV, which will come with a range of 350-400 km. On the other hand, ICE cars could be replacements for the Tata Tiago or Tigor.

23 updates for existing cars

Tata Motors will also update its existing cars along with new cars. The company has planned 23 facelifts, model year (MY) updates, and special editions, including the Tata Harrier Safari updates. The Tiago, Tigor, Punch, Nexon, Curve, Harrier, Safari, and Altroz—as well as their electric versions—will get new designs, better features, and technology upgrades. These updates will put Tata ahead in competition with companies like Maruti, Hyundai, and Mahindra.

New turbo petrol engine in Harrier and Safari

The biggest change in the Tata Harrier Safari updates will be the new engine in the ICE versions of the Harrier and Safari. Tata Motors has confirmed that these SUVs will get a 1.5-litre TGDi turbo petrol engine by 2026. This engine will produce 170-180 bhp of power and come with better mileage. This update is for those customers who want a petrol SUV instead of a diesel.

Tata’s electric future

It is clear from the Tata Motors New Cars 2030 plan that the company is betting big on electric mobility. Tata has already made a strong position in the electric segment with Nexon EV, Punch EV, and Harrier EV. Now with Tata Sierra EV and Tata Avinya, the company is moving towards premium electric cars. Tata aims to have 50% of its cars electric by 2030.
